Urgency & bookings

The longer they wait, the less it's worth

“$25 off right now. It drops $1 every hour until it's $5.”

A coupon with a clock on it. You set the starting value, how much it drops and how often, and the lowest it can go. Customers see the live value and when it drops next, so the best time to use it is always now.

What the customer sees

From scan to reward, step by step

No app, no account, no download. The whole journey happens in a mobile browser on your branded page.

  1. Scans the card and sees the starting value and exactly how fast it drops.

  2. Claims it with an email or phone number. The clock starts now.

  3. Watches the live value: worth $25 now, $24 in 42 minutes.

  4. Gets the reminders you chose, such as a heads-up before the next drop or a last chance.

  5. Shows the code at the counter or enters it online. Staff see the value right now and it holds for 15 minutes while they ring it up.

How to set it up

Configured in the builder, live the same day

  1. Pick dollars or percent

Set the starting value and the lowest it can go. It ends when it reaches the lowest value.

  2. Set the drop

Choose how much it loses each hour, day or week. Shorter steps create the most urgency.

  3. Pause when closed

Hourly and daily drops can stop while you're closed, so nobody loses value overnight.

  4. Choose reminders

Claimed, before the next drop, halfway and last chance. Quiet hours and opt-ins always apply.

  5. Deploy

Counter cards, receipts and social posts. Every surface shows the same live value.

What you can configure

  • Dollars off or percent off
  • Starting and lowest value

  • Reminder texts and emails
  • Minimum spend and where it can be used

Why it works

A normal coupon expires once, weeks from now, so it gets forgotten. A countdown coupon costs the customer a little every time they put it off. That small, visible loss is what turns "I'll go sometime" into "I'll go today", and you choose exactly how much it costs you at every step.

The outcome for this promotion is decided on our server before the customer sees it, so the prize cannot be forced from the browser.

Questions

Countdown coupon questions

Is this a gift card?
No. It's a free promotional coupon, which is why it can lose value and expire. Paid gift cards have federal and state rules on expiry and fees, so we don't sell value that shrinks.
What happens if the value drops while staff are ringing it up?
Looking the code up holds its value for 15 minutes, so the customer gets the price they saw at the counter.
Does it lose value overnight?
Not if you turn on pausing. For hourly drops only open hours count; for daily drops the value drops at closing time on each day you're open. Weekly drops run on the calendar.
Can it be used more than once?
No. Each coupon is single use, at whatever it's worth at the time.
