SMS Terms & Consent Disclosures

Businesses use Promotedly to send promotional text messages to customers who have given express written consent. Messages come from the business whose promotion you claimed and typically contain a reward, an offer, a reminder for something you booked, or a rewards program update.

These are recurring automated marketing messages. Consent is never a condition of any purchase.

Before a mobile number can be submitted on a promotion page, the following disclosure is displayed next to an unchecked opt-in control. Nothing is pre-selected, and the promotion can be claimed without providing a number.

The exact text shown, the timestamp, the page URL, the channel and the purpose are written to a permanent consent ledger. That record is the evidence that a message was permitted, and it is retained even if the underlying contact record is deleted.

• Message frequency varies and depends on the business's campaigns. Most send between two and four marketing messages a month.
• Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier, not the business and not Promotedly, sets those charges.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Supported carriers include the major United States carriers. Delivery on any given carrier is not guaranteed.

STOP and its common variants are honoured automatically and immediately, and the revocation is written to the consent ledger with its reason so it cannot be silently reversed. Re-subscribing requires a fresh, documented opt-in from you.

Opting out of text messages does not opt you out of marketing email, and vice versa. Each channel carries its own consent and its own opt-out.

Some messages are transactional rather than promotional: the reward you just claimed, a confirmation, or a reminder for an appointment you booked. These relate to something you asked for and are sent under a separate transactional purpose. If you have opted out of marketing you may still receive these, and you can stop them by cancelling the underlying booking or contacting the business.

Mobile numbers collected through a promotion are held for the business that ran it and are not sold, and not shared with third parties for their own marketing. We use messaging providers to deliver messages; they receive only the number and the message content. See our privacy policy for the full detail.

• Only message numbers collected through your own consented signup flows. Purchased, rented or scraped lists are prohibited and will get your account suspended.
• Keep your business name identifiable in your messages, and keep the offer honest.
• Do not remove or weaken the consent disclosure, and do not pre-check the opt-in control.
• Publish your own SMS terms and privacy policy where your carrier registration requires it, and keep them consistent with this page.
• Follow the TCPA, applicable state telemarketing law, and carrier and industry messaging guidelines, including quiet-hours restrictions.
